Well hello there! We’re here for another BuJo inspired linkup! I’ve been so anxious to share some news with you this week, that I could hardly wait until Wednesday! Let’s jump right into it!

What’s this you say? Well, it’s the launch of a new podcast with my friend Tiffany, titled Planned Not Scripted. I can’t even tell you how excited I am about this podcast. We are still waiting on iTunes to do their thang and accept the feed, but we couldn’t wait. This new podcast will be a more relaxed approach to podcasting. It will be more of a conversation with a friend, over coffee – or wine, depending on how I’m feeling that day.
We will talk about the ups and downs of life, books, faith, family, motherhood, relationships, wellness and self care – all the good stuff you want to talk about with none of the hassle of having to get dressed and leave the house (always a bonus). I would love it if you subscribed to the feed (just scroll down and click on your method of choice). We are planning for a monthly cadence and not the usual weekly format that most podcasts use. Two reasons for this, one we have a few other projects going on that include our online lives as well as offline and, secondly – we don’t want to create content for the sake of creating content.
There’s so much content competing for our time, attention, clicks and follows, that we don’t want to bring that kind of pressure. Who cares if the recommendation is weekly because your audience will forget you? We wag our (long overdue for a manicure) finger at the notion.
We’re friends, and wanted to include YOU in on the conversation. It’s intimate, it’s real and it’s us. I hope you love it as much as we have loved getting it off the ground! So head over and have a listen!
Making :: Right now I am knee deep in First Holy Communion and Baptism hoops! Glory Be, people!
Cooking :: Leftover Slow Cooker Picadillo. It’s absolutely delicious and the recipe is right here. My only tweak (and I always have to tweak), is a packet of Sazon.
Reading :: I really want to sink my teeth into the history of embroidery along with it’s many forms. I just downloaded a sample of this book, Embroidered & Embellished: 85 Stitches Using Thread, Floss, Ribbon, Beads & More Step by Step Visual Guide by Christen Brown and love the introduction so far. My only debate is whether I will get the paperback or stick with the Kindle version.
Wanting :: My hour back. I can’t even believe how Daylight Savings Time killed me. I slept for 11 hours Saturday night, then only 4 on Sunday night. I don’t know what the deal is, but I always chalk up what I can’t understand about my body, as just getting older.
Loving :: I sold a hoop on Facebook! Can you imagine? It came about because I was excited to finish a Divine Mercy hoop as my Easter offering. After a few inquiries, it sold. I learned a lot in the short time it took for the hoop to sell (an hour) and am considering sharing it all in a future blog post. I know it’s against my personal guidelines to do so, but look at this hoop! My favorite parts are the big straight stitches using ruby red, and pale, ice blue metallic threads for the blood and water. Ok, my second favorite part are the pierced hands and feet, also with that ruby red, metallic thread. Someone else asked for this hoop after it sold, so I created a listing for her. I am taking 4 custom orders for April, so if you want one – head over to my shop and message me!
Thinking :: More and more about my meditation practice. I am opening myself up to the process differently than I have in the past. Maybe it’s because I’m getting older 😉 I really think it’s because of something I realized as I was recording the pilot episode of the podcast “I don’t think I am worthy enough for 10 minutes of uninterrupted time.” Do you ever say something and only realize long after, the weight of it? When I say I can’t or don’t have time to sit and meditate right now, I immediately say – Yes, I am worthy of those ten minutes right now! And I sit in a chair. I am always glad for having made the choice.
Working on :: Nothing super new at the moment. Actually, that’s not true…I am working on shipping that Divine Mercy hoop! I am going to kill two birds and walk to the post office. Even though it’s overcast and gloomy, I can get some steps in and ship that hoop! I am also getting the next issue of The Stitchy Scoop ready to send! Have you signed up yet?
