Welcome to another segment of Lovely Tidbits, a Bullet Journal inspired linkup where you share what you’re reading, thinking, making, cooking, you name it! If there’s something you’d like to capture, this link up is the way to do it! Even if you don’t have a blog, I welcome you to share something in the comments. You’re always welcome!

I’ve been a busy, and sick little bee. I held my very first giveaway on Instagram which was a lot of fun! I chose to give away my most loved hoop, The Mason Jar Hoop. Most people thought I was a little bonkers for giving this away, but I wanted to show gratitude for all of the well wishes and encouragement received. I put two in the shop and have only one left!
Then, I got sick! My son had strep a few weeks ago, then an ear infection last week. Let me let you in on a little secret, I kept kissing him and hugging him, because that’s what mothers do, right? I assumed that his little boy germs couldn’t infiltrate my big mommy immune system. WRONG! I got strep too, and it’s been since last Wednesday!! I still haven’t shaken it, but I am heading back to the doctor today to obtain more ammunition (thinking steroids, maybe?).
The point of this behind the scenes personal stuff? Prior to getting sick, I planned my very first sale on all ready-to-ship hand embroidered hoops. Each of them are $10 off the original list price. Thank goodness for my Bullet Journal!! Because I have been committing to the process, I didn’t have to scramble. I just had to announce the sale and that was it! Sometimes, my planning works out! Other times, I don’t plan. Wah wah!
I sent an email to my subscribers giving them a few hours advance notice of the sale so they could have first dibs, and then I announced it on social media. I sold three hoops yesterday! If you’d like to snag one for yourself before they go, head over to my sale happening now!
Making :: Yet, another First Communion hoop and furiously working on my spring launch items! Here’s just a sampling of the palette I chose:
Cooking :: Homemade meatballs and spaghetti! What I do, is use the leftover stuffing from my stuffed mushrooms recipe. I made them over the weekend for Easter, and voila! Easy-peasy, delicious meatballs.
Reading :: I just picked up the audible version of Harriet Wolf’s Seventh Book of Wonders: A Novel by Julianna Baggott. I usually don’t read novels, unless it’s Kristen Lavransdatter or anything by Sigrid Undset! I was scrolling through my Instagram feed and sometimes I’ll peek over to the feed that Instagram thinks I’d like. This book cover was one of the images and I was instantly intrigued. That ever happen to you? I mean, look at this cover?! The lettering, the books, the title? How can I say no?! I am only starting chapter two and plan to listen as I stitch that First Communion hoop today!
Wanting :: Health. So badly. I run the house, if Mom’s down, we’re all down, in a way. I know I shouldn’t put all of this pressure on myself to get better, and just rest, but I don’t want things to get so out of whack at home that I have to go crazy to get it back to normal levels! More Emergen-C for me, it seems.
Loving :: These hoop labels! I purchased custom hoop labels and they finally came in! Aren’t they adorable? Thanks to Rhonda Ortiz for designing them! She’s amazing. We’ve worked together so long that she just gets my aesthetic. I highly recommend her for any and all design work! Here’s how they look hand stitched in the back of one of my finished hoops:
Thinking :: About writing a post on how I back my hoops. People always ask me how I close my hoops. I think it’s because as a maker we’re always looking for a faster (without losing quality) way of doing things. I thought, why not make a full on tutorial! What do you think?!
Working on :: Trying to get myself back on track with my food choices + exercise. With the kids’ Easter break and spread for Easter dinner, I fell off the wagon. I also give myself slack when I’m not feeling particularly well, but I gotta get back to it! I am also working on a massive Bullet Journal post for The SITS Girls. I have so much information to share that I think I need to pare it down some. Finally, I am working on getting more Making Moves interviews up. I learn so much from others and how they run their shop and where they get their inspiration, not to mention their willingness to share business tips!
This week’s entry is a little longer than usual, with more pictures because I took last week off! 🙂
