I was hoping to have a tutorial up in between the last post and this one, but custom orders and getting over a virus on top of the strep I’d already had, won out. But, know that a tutorial is coming, very soon! My son already took pictures for it. It’s a family affair over here.
Welcome to another segment of Lovely Tidbits, a Bullet Journal inspired linkup where you share what you’re reading, thinking, making, cooking, you name it! If there’s something you’d like to capture, this link up is the way to do it! Even if you don’t have a blog, I welcome you to share something in the comments. You’re always welcome!

Happy Easter, Happy end of March, Happy Spring, you name it, I’m happy for you.
I’ve been taking it slow lately on account of being sick, but I have still been stitching and I managed to learn a new stitch. The heavy chain stitch. See it (slightly embellished with gold thread) in the wheat below.
Believe it or not, this entire thing is only 1.5 x 1.5 inches long! I needed to get my reading glasses on for this one!
Making :: I am half way through a Divine Mercy hoop. I initially had one for sale (via Instagram, but sold on Facebook, remember?). And someone asked me for another one.
Cooking :: Rice and beans with herbed chicken thighs. It’s a meal I can make without even thinking about it. I always have leftovers and everyone loves it. It’s the perfect comfort food!
Reading :: I finished the audible version of Harriet Wolf’s Seventh Book of Wonders: A Novel by Julianna Baggott on Monday morning. I am SO sad to see it go. I loved the characters, especially Tilton. I highly recommend getting the audible version, while Baggott ensures each character has it’s own voice, she really did an incredible job in picking out the voices for the characters. You actually fall in love with the voices, and it brings the book to life. I didn’t want it to end, but couldn’t stop listening. Who doesn’t love being read to? I am currently perusing the suggestions made by Your Next Read so I can find other books in a similar vain to gobble up. I don’t think anything will be as good. Don’t we always say that after reading a great book? If you have any recommendations, I am all ears (literally – I want another audio book!)
Wanting :: A pencil case. Really? Really. I have all of these pens and no place to put them. I gather them up from my craft table, and tote them downstairs to the kitchen table, back up to my bedroom, then to the craft table. It’s the simple, practical things I never invest in. I want something cute and girly. Go figure. I’ll figure it out at some point soon, I’m sure. My pen collection is getting out of control!
Loving :: A bible verse, hand lettering challenge on Instagram. Here is the first day:
We are on Day 6 now, which is Romans 8:39 Who know what I’ll do. I have been looking up the verse the day before and repeating it in my mind over and over until a get a feel for what I am going to draw up. It’s a great way to memorize scripture, and to have a sort of mantra for the day of hope and positivity. Don’t you think?
Thinking :: I am thinking about the summer already – about lazing about the pool with my sweet boys and talking to them about nothing and everything over ice cream. This will be my first summer at home with them in quite a few years (now that I’ve quit my full time job). They are looking forward to the summer, too. This year has been tough on my older son, and he could use the respite.
Working on :: Getting back on track with this here site. I’m on the mend and it’s time to get crackin! I’ve received many responses to the weekly interviews I have here, so I have to get them loaded, formatted, edited and scheduled. I do enjoy reading them though, and I love to build the excitement for myself of how you, the reader, will respond to them.
