So, here we are at mid April. It’s already snowed, flooded and flowered. What is going on?! Someone please tell me.
And this is what I’ve been up to. The newest necklaces in my shop!
Making :: Just finishing up the Divine Mercy hoop and sketching up these necklaces to restock the shop!
Cooking :: I don’t know what’s happening here. I thawed a ton of chicken thighs. Lady Inspiration better show up and help me make something good.
Reading :: I am listening to The Fates and The Furies by Lauren Groff. Not for the dainty minded, let me tell you. It’s interesting and I keep going back to it, but nothing will hold the luster of Harriet Wolf’s Seventh Book of Wonders…yet, anyway. I have another audio book waiting in the wings for when I finish this one.
Wanting :: My tiny hoops from Dandelyne to come in. I just love assembling these. What they say is true, give a girl a glue gun and you won’t see her for hours! Can you believe I procrastinated on these necklaces because I was afraid of a glue gun. How is that possible?
Loving :: The Floral Mason Jar Hoop Necklace. Yes, I’m making more, I just couldn’t give away my very first one. I tried, believe me. But it won’t come off my neck. Honest. I’ve never keep anything that I make. There’s always a first time for everything.
Thinking :: Am I ever thinking!! How can I tell? Well, the insides of my cheeks are chewed raw, that’s how I know I’m in think mode. Sorry if that’s TMI. Let’s not even start with the planning of my son’s First Holy Communion fête, or my other son’s memorization of his declamation speech, shall we? Let’s just talk stitches.
I’ve never launched a necklace line and so I was unsure how to go about it. What to stock, how many, would people like it, and so many other questions. I opted to go with one of each, in the hopes I could get a feel for what people wanted. Who wants to offer something others don’t want!? Well, it seems I may have bet incorrectly. People like the stack of books with the teacup on top, and I thought they would prefer just the teacups.
Since the hoops are two different shapes, they aren’t interchangeable, and I’ll have to order more of larger hoops. There’s a 2-3 week lead time on getting those tiny hoops in. dandelyne is the maker of the tiny wearable hoops and she (Son) lives down under.
Sure I could get other tiny hoops in the states, but for me, the whole point of a tiny hoop necklace is that it looks like a hoop, complete with brass screw at the top – so we wait. In the meantime, I will be stitching away so when they do come in, I can assemble and be off at the races. I think I’ve found my stride!
Working on :: The latest issue of The Stitchy Scoop! I do love curating the content for it and having a more intimate chat with them. Yes, even more intimate than our Lovely Tidbits Linkup, if you can believe that! Don’t want to miss it…you don’t have to – check it out below:
